Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) Program

Ages: 14 & 15 year olds

Our Counselors-In Training (C.I.T.) Program is for ambitious 14 & 15 year old boys and girls interested in one day becoming counselors! The quality of a camp is always a reflection of the quality of the camp staff. Likewise, the quality of the camp staff is always a reflection of the quality of training and support they received. For this reason, we have decided to make an investment in the staff of future years by developing an extensive C.I.T. program just for 14 & 15 year olds.
This program takes the energy and enthusiasm of junior highers and trains them to take over some leadership responsibilities in camp. Their day will be divided into three parts:
    1. CIT’s will spend most of the morning helping along side of a senior staff member in one of the camp groups. Here, they will enjoy some responsibility and get a valuable taste of what it is like to be a counselor.
    1. Before lunch, CIT’s will be pulled from their groups to help with some of the behind the scene tasks at camp. For example, they will assist the program director in planning and implementing different activities through the week such as the daily camp rally, all camp activities, and the end of the week theme day.
  1. Some days, they will spend the last hour or two of camp doing fun things together as their own group of CITS. This will be under the direction of the program director.

“Camp foundations has had a major impact on who I have become. I have been going to camp foundations for 3 years and last year I was a CIT. Being a CIT is so much fun! Every counselor and CIT there have all became part of my family and I can call Camp Foundations my home. Being a CIT at Camp Foundations is full of adventures. Every day so many new and exciting things happen. I can’t wait for the summer to arrive where I can meet more people and see my friends.”
